Almost 500 students complete Kia Orana Customer Service Course


Cook Islands Tourism Corporation worked alongside Cook Islands Tertiary Training Institute to incorporate the Kia Orana Values into their customer service course and as a result were pleased to offer an accredited FREE Kia Orana Customer Service Course.

Topics include Kia Orana Values, First Approach, Customer Connection, Providing Service, Customer Communications, Understanding customers and steps to complaints handling. 

At the end of 2016 we celebrated a graduation of 492 students for their successful completion of the Kia Orana customer service course. These numbers included 28 students in Aitutaki, 10 students in Atiu and 25 participants in Mangaia proving the course's popularity in our Pa Enua. Participants who completed the course and graduated have enjoyed doing so, they have commented on how it is such a fantastic refresher course that is suitable for all occupations and encourage all to get involved.

The students represented a variety of businesses ranging from banks and retailers to tourism accommodators, motor mechanics and aviation security. This course is designed to be hands on and interactive where participants are encouraged to look at themselves and their own customer service delivery to see where improvements can be made. All these businesses contribute directly or indirectly to tourism and this course has helped significantly with raising the quality and standard of customer service throughout the industry.
